SUMMARY:Luncheon: Bacon’s Rebellion -The First American Revolution
DESCRIPTION:On October 10\, 2026\, AHP will host a hybrid luncheon event commemorating the 350th anniversary of Bacon’s Rebellion\, a seminal event in American history. In the 17th and 18th centuries\, Jamestown colonist Nathaniel Bacon was revered as a great leader of a citizens’ movement for freedom. Thomas Jefferson lauded him. A plaque in the Virginia State Capitol calls him “A Great Patriot Leader of the Virginia People who died defending their rights.” He has gone down in history as the leader of “Bacon’s Rebellion\,” considered by some historians to be America’s First Revolution.” Who was this man\, and what was Bacon’s Rebellion all about? \nOur guest speaker will be Mark Summers of Jamestown Rediscovery\, who is an expert on the history of Bacon’s Rebellion. His talk will commence at 12:30 p.m. Pacific time. Registration for this event is open. \nThe presentation will follow a lunch available for $30. TICKET SALES ARE LIMITED TO 30 PEOPLE. \nThose unable to attend in person may join the ZOOM presentation by registering for the event. Those registrants will be provided the necessary access prior to the event. No limitation on VIRTUAL Attendees. \nMark Summers and Jamestown Rediscovery \nMark Summers is the public historian and Educational Director for Youth and Public Programs at Jamestown Rediscovery\, known for his nuanced\, evidence‑based interpretations of the colony’s complex history. \nRole and Responsibilities \nMark Summers serves as the Educational Director of Youth and Public Programs for Jamestown Rediscovery\, the archaeological and interpretive project at the site of the first permanent English colony in North America. In this role\, he designs and delivers educational programs that move beyond romanticized or overly negative portrayals of Jamestown\, instead presenting a balanced\, multi‑perspective view of the settlement’s challenges\, achievements\, and human stories. \nThis event is co-sponsored by The Jamestowne Society

DESCRIPTION:American Heritage Partners is proud to serve as a corporate sponsor for the 38th Annual Robert Burns Celebration\, hosted by the Nevada Society of Scottish Clans (NSSC) on Saturday\, January 30\, 2027\, at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno\, Nevada. This popular annual gathering honors the life\, poetry\, and enduring cultural legacy of Scotland’s national poet\, Robert Burns\, whose literary contributions continue to inspire generations worldwide. \nGuests will enjoy a full evening of Scottish tradition and festive entertainment\, including performances by the Sierra Highland Pipers and the Ruby Mountain Pipe Band\, Highland dancing by the Sierra Nevada Highland Dancers\, and music by the featured Celtic band Cady Finlayson and Bond Street. The evening includes a silent auction\, raffle prizes\, a traditional plated dinner featuring haggis and a “Toast to the Haggis\,” and a complimentary Scotch whisky tasting reception to kick off the night. Doors open for the whisky tasting at 4:00 PM\, followed by the formal program at 5:00 PM and dinner at 5:30 PM. \nPlease note that American Heritage Partners does not handle ticket sales for this event.
